ALBA is developing an archival application dedicated to the documentation, preservation, and presentation of a contemporary game collection. The goal is to transform collecting into a verifiable system: organized, photographed, cataloged, filmed, and accessible.
The project was born not only to achieve a numerical record, but also to propose a new standard for interpreting collecting: every card, every variant, and every object becomes part of a narrative, visual, and documentary archive.
Each item is recorded through front/back images, identifying data, categories, variants and supporting materials.
The archive’s structure is designed to facilitate control, comparison, and verification: from single objects to an overall view of the set.
The material does not remain hidden in a private collection, but is prepared to be described, exhibited, and shared with the public.
ALBA interprets the record not as an isolated point of arrival, but as a natural consequence of a method: collection, cataloging, documentation, preservation, narration, and accessibility. Value lies not only in the quantity of objects, but in the quality of the system that makes them legible.
The application is built through an orderly and replicable process, designed to produce clear and accessible evidence.
ALBA’s GWR dossier can be built on a series of progressive tests, capable of describing both the content of the collection and the solidity of the method.
Master list of the collection, with numbering, variants, sections, categories and completion status.
Organized photographic collection, useful for verifying the presence, identity, and preservation of the documented elements.
Supporting videos to demonstrate the continuity of the material, physical layout, and correspondence with the catalog.
Presentation document of the project, its cultural mission, methodology, and archival value.
Visual design of panels, supports, layouts, and digital content connected to the public experience.
Connection between physical object, image, card, code, video and section to which it belongs.
The project follows a work sequence designed to arrive at the application with an archive that is already mature, organized, and ready for verification.
Identify the most suitable scope for the application: quantity, documentation, completeness, archival uniqueness, or exhibition format.
Reviewing lists, checking variations, sorting sections, and preparing digital proofs.
Creation of images, videos, summaries and descriptive materials consistent with any required guidelines.
The project connects to the ALBA exhibition space: exhibition, panels, QR codes, online content, and cultural storytelling.
Submit the material as directed, with any additional evidence, statements, videos, or documentation.

The GWR Project represents ALBA’s desire to take collecting beyond simple accumulation: towards a documented, exhibited, verifiable and shared cultural form.
